TBITSP- This book is a heartwarming story about a nine year old boy named Bruno who lives with his mother, father and his sister Maria! Bruno doesn't really know much but he does know that he is moved from his family home in Berlin to a deserted place with no-one to play or chat with. This is all until he meets Shmuel. Shmuel was the same as Bruno-nearly- he too lived with his mother and father but with many other people too. To Bruno he just looked liked a regular boy when you looked past the striped pyjamas and the fence that was stopping them two playing together! Since Bruno didn't understand this he obviously didn't understand what his father was doing to the poor people....
As Bruno's friendship with Shmuel developed so did the time they had together. But one day Bruno felt especially lonely and decided to go and get Shmuel and play with him-but this time on Shmuels side of the fence. As Bruno climbed over and got across a man came and leaded them all to something which looked like a big shed!
